“You make a living from what you get. You make a life by what you give”
12in12 is acknowledging the work that volunteers do by giving you the chance to use volunteering to earn your medal and certificate of achievements. You can choose to volunteer for all 12 events, or you can add one or two events as a volunteer mixing and matching with your other events.
Volunteering is a fantastic experience and you don’t have to worry about getting it wrong, there are always plenty of people to show you what to do.
Volunteers are required in all sorts of roles, not least at events and without volunteers many events would not go ahead. Your local parkrun, for example, is organised entirely by volunteers.
You can be creative in choosing what you volunteer for – one of our volunteers was a Racemaker at Silverstone for the Formula 1.
Volunteering has lots of benefits for individuals, communities and organisations. People who volunteer gain confidence, learn new skills and develop a real sense of belonging to their communities. Organisations benefit from the skills, enthusiasm and time of a diverse volunteer workforce.
