How to Stay Motivated if You Don’t Feel Like Working Out

Spread the love

“It doesn’t matter who you are, where you come from. The ability to triumph begins with you. Always.” –Oprah Winfrey

We have all been there whether it’s a busy week at work or rainy weather the feeling of not wanting to go for that run or go cycling, is the biggest demotivator in your journey for success. Included below are some tips on how you can overcome the feeling and be put on to the road to success.

Set your Alarms

Set as many alarms as you need to, it’s the perfect constant reminder to pull yourself away from what you are doing and force yourself to go and work out. Leave little motivational messages on the variety of different alarms to remind yourself and encourage yourself to get moving.

Pump Out Those Jams

There is nothing more motivating than putting a playlist on of all your favourite songs. Whether that’s the classic songs such as eye of the tiger or more pop songs. Putting together a fun playlist that will get you moving and make you want to work out whether that’s on a run or just before you go swimming.

Treat Yourself

Reward yourself for having the long jog or cycling the extra mile by putting a treat in your bag or in your pocket. For example, put a favourite protein bar in your backpack.

Promise A Partner

Ask one of your fellow 12in12 members or invite a friend to work out with you on a specific time of the day. Alternatively, you could schedule a fitness class together or fully organise a walk or a hike or a run. It’s not only a great way to keep you motivated but it will create some fun memories that you can look back on.
